This is beautiful. Love seeing traditional mediums on dA. Who is the woman? How large is this?

No identity on the women , the piece is a small one about 5 x 7 inches. Thank you !

"Aer" is one of my favourite works of yours, and a great example of how exquisite a traditional mixed media piece can be - I'm very happy to see it featured. Congratulations, Diane!

Jakub, is that right? Sometimes names are a bit deceiving on DA. Thanks so much for your comment. I wonder about mixed media in the scheme of things and how it is accepted versus other media. Wondering aside it is what I like to do although sometimes I feel my pieces are too feminine and would love to be able to go more in the direction of your last piece.

Just right, that's my name; and speaking of mixed media - sometimes it might seem a borderland aside other artistic domains, but it has its ardent admirers, many talented practitioners, and a quiet but huge potential to attract and even mystify new spectators - which is what I like in your works too, always looking forward to seeing what you create next. Also, perhaps because of their distinct style, I would never thought of your pieces as too feminine - that is why to me you can safely tread in various directions. I caught some kind of geometric virus lately, using more paper scraps than paint, but in some yet unfinished pieces I am trying to return to more spontaneous flux of oils - so I think there is some degree of mutual inspiration going on too.

I went to your wordpress site, lots of inspiration there. I do wish I had learned polish from my mom so I could read the comments , she mostly yelled at me in Polish.

Sure enough to get deterred from the tongue; still, never too late to discover the other side of it. It is nice how from time to time I learn about Polish roots of many collage artists here on deviantart, and then I feel as if we were all distant relatives from one big family. Thanks for taking a look at the blog - not too frequently updated lately, but I'm glad you found something interesting behind the scenes too.

I always look forward to your new works too. It is kind of nice the mutual inspiration thing ! I am not sure if I would mind getting some of that geometric virus , changing directions now and then keeps things interesting. I haven't used oils for a while and when I do it is usually to mix them with cold wax medium , maybe the next pieceΒ

I haven't used cold wax yet, but seeing the effects, I definitely have to try it. I'd love to see your works with the naked eye one day.

Love the feel of this! Like the figure is emerging from all the textures and great colours. Keep up the great work.

Really nice. I love the way the figure is hidden/revealed.

Thanks Ken, incorporating the figure was a bit tough.
