Description
The recently described Deinocheirus is surely one of the weirdest theropods we know: this humongous, feathered ornithomimosaur sought for food from lake shores and rivers, eating everything it wanted. Its similarity to a gigantic wading bird is striking and although its modern analogue would be the spoonbill (as Duane Nash pointed out in an excellent post on Antediluvian Salad.blogspot: antediluviansalad.blogspot.it/… ), when I think of a big shorebird the thirst thing I've got in mind is obviously the shoebill. And when I think of a shoebill, this (link: i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2009/1… ) is the picture I'm thinking of. Of course putting a duck inside its mouth wasn't very cool, so I thought that a generic deinonychosaur would be something more suitable. It's obvious that Deinocheirus hunted small vertebrates, but its fragile skull probably couldn't handle bigger preys like this one. This doesn't mean that the animal couldn't have tried at all and maybe it's just giving a ride to the maniraptoran, like the shoebill did in the photo (that's right, it's not trying to eat it - though it could). The idea was good enough so I gave it a go.
Sadly, during the scanning process lots of shadows and effects were lost so if I'll ever have the occasion I'll scan it properly. Still, it's not that bad - I think that the blue hue is a nice touch.
Maybe I'll do a coloured version with some changes (I'll sure add a background), but for now this is what you have.

The proportions are a bit off (as Jaime A. Headden already pointed out) but other than that they shouldn't be TOO off. Thank you!

It's up to you.
By the way, the raptor already has the typical claw. If you want to enalrge it, do as you please.

Raptor 1: So, we need to cross all the way to Nemegt. Gonna be a harsh trip, guys.
Raptor 2: How're we going?
Raptor 3: By foot, of course, you idiot! What'd you think, by Deinocheirus?
Raptor 2: Precisely.

Actually Deino's mouth aren't 'that' fragile (this is the newest specimen drawing or do you see the ' newest of newest ' specimen ? Its mouth is bit more rougher than the hornbill one.
It catched moving & slapping fish so it surely try to kill these guys too; at least its claws are usefull for that and for defense to tyrannosauroid species.
Great sketch by the way

It probably used its claws as the main equipment, not its jaws.

Thanks .
This is based upon Barsbold's and Currie's latest specimens.
Deinocheirus did have a fragile skull "The skull bone walls were rather thin, about 6 mm (0.24 in)". So even if it was capable of eating a little bit of everything, that doesn't mean it could handle large preys very well.
Ps: Sorry but why do you name the hornbill fo this restoration?

You are very welcome
Well at least it is more durable than first thought
maybe it used its claws as Help... Sort of Hyper bleeding Slap
The 'Hornbill' is this dino's new '' nickname '' Given from internet trolls

That Deinonychosaur looks like it is about to destroy all the hopes and dreams of everything it ever comes across.
In all seriousness, this is an amazing piece.
