Side Note:
Since our Calius Defense General stepped down, I decided to replace him with an existant character out of various reasons:
-I don't have the time to draw a whole new flash character/base at the moment, so I prefered using someone I already drew. Saves me TONS of work.
-I'm the founder of SoC, so I doubt I will suddenly leave the group or step down from my position... and if I do, I doubt 'selecting a new Defense General' would be the main problem anymore xD
-Due to IRL I barely managed to support Ares missionwise anymore anyway since a long time... I will have more time at hand now though, which I will try dividing between Caelius and Ares.
-Duane is caelian and 'General-Material', personality-wise. I have only RPed him once so far, so tweaking his story a bit to make him a good general is not a problem...

Abilities:
- Darkness: Duane is stronger the darker his surroundings. This is at the same time his biggest weakpoint. During daytime, he is unable to fly and rather weakened. In extremely light areas such as Ziaray or Castitatis he hes trouble walking in his draconic form even, getting exhausted very easily in human form. Lakuna Desert is rather deadly for him as the light from all directions can be enough to render him entirely motionless. Beware of him during night time though...
- Speaks drakonic fluently. Or actually it is the other way around: He speaks english fluently, Drakonic is his mother tongue.
- Size: Without doubt, a dragon's size and hence their physical strength are their strongest 'ability'. The size of the jaw, of the claws, the tail,... However, all his strength is gone in light areas/day time.
- Twin Shield Wielder: Duane can't form wings in his human form in contrary to other dragons, but what he can do is creating a set of dark, black shields on his arms which he uses for offense as well as defense in narrow areas or at daytime when his dragon form is unable or in disadvantage to fight.

History:
Despite his race, which makes him look way more like an arean, Duane is actually born in Caelius. For a very long time of his life he used to live around Zephyr Road, protecting the dangerous area during nighttime against arean invaders. As territorial as most dragons, he agreed to help Caelius in the defense of the area, -his- territory. During daytime most of the angels and other caelians are strongest but they are weaker during night time... that's when Duane took over protecting the area.

During the Age of Peace, Duane has vanished completely, only returning to Zepyr Road a few months ago. He is rumored to own a giant dragon treasure somewhere hidden in his cave. After his return to Caelius though, he was offered a promotion within the army, his deeds and battles from the old war not forgotten. Proving his worth once more, he was lifted into the rank of Defense General eventually.

Personality:
Duane gives a cool and collected impression to the outside... since he rarely ever interacts with people though it is hard to tell how he actually acts around others... usually he roars at everyone daring to enter his cave or giving out orders, not accepting anyone to question his words as respect, order and efficiency are most important to him...

Additional:
Scars on Duane's dragon body glow in a silver blue light. His blood isn't red either, instead it is a soft glowing white liquid.
He has lost his right eye, being completely blind on that side, limiting his field of view to the left side mainly.
As most dragons, he is possessed with treasure.
If being asked why he was gone for so long or where he has been, that is usually reason enough to simply turn and leave a conversation.... just saying...
Language: (copied from Fure's dragon lore) When a dragon speaks in dragon form it can be a combination of verbal as well as mental. For this reason the depth and meaning of the language has taken on a rather tedious nature. Often times when direct translations are made, a single adjective could amount to be a full sentence or even paragraph even though the original word was only a few syllables. When spoken in dragon form the image would be conveyed well enough, almost as if a mental picture had been painted. When others hear draconic being spoken by a dragon in true form they will not be able to understand, but perhaps catch the 'gist' of it from time to time thanks to the deep and almost artistic nature of the words even though the physical sounds can be quite harsh on the ears.
Duane has learned the language of humans very well by now, he tends to describe things more detailed than a regular person would. (eg. 'It is time of darkness and glowing beautiful lights in the sky' instead of 'It is night time')
The Midnight Dragons have only very limited access to the 'Magic of Words' though, only able to convey a certain feeling while speaking, not causing any actual emotional or even physical effect the way other breeds are able to. In return, the Midnight Dragons are fairly unaffected by the Magic of Words as well though, not minding or caring to give their actual names out... not that anyone beside dragons is able to pronounce them...

Subspecies created by myself. Small differences to the lore: Midnight Dragons possess only one set of horns instead of 3. Only during elderly age, two other sets start growing on their heads. They are unable to Shapeshift into a thrid form, no matter how hard they try or train.
Also, they are unable to turn into winged human forms... his shields represent his wings though -> They can't be separated from his body, if one of his wings is broken, his shield will be damaged too, if the shield takes a too hard blow, it will affect the wing in dragon form as well.
The Shields are extremely hard and robust, so Duane can use them for defense just fine usually without endangering his wings in dragon form later. The other way around is different though: His wings are just as easily hurtable as the rest of his body, which will easily show on the shields when transforming to human body.
