Description
This gray, medium sized bird is a lovely visitor to have at the feeder! The Northern Mockingbird, as it's name suggests, are known for their remarkable singing skills, often mimicking other birds when singing. The only species of it's group that live in North America, it is easily recognized by its gray and black feathering, white bands on the wings, and long tail. They are omnivorous, eating seeds and insects. They are of least concern, and are common in gardens like the one I've shown here.

Once again, proportions proved to be the most challenging aspect of the design: the head is slightly to large, but more glaringly so is the neck, making the bird, while in real life being quite skinny, a bit beefier here than I'd like. Other than that, I'm happy with the coloration and satisfied with the background (I'm obsessed with large billowing clouds if you haven't guessed). Prang brand colored pencils on 50 lb paper, 5.5"x8.5".
