Description Caged in a bleak metal world...

This photo was taken inside Melbourne central, looking up the side of the Old Shot tower. The shot tower is in the main 'courtyard' type space, it was such a good tower they incorporated it into the design of the shopping complex.

"The Shot Tower originally built in 1889-90 is housed in an ingenious cone-shaped glass dome, a central point for the entire shopping complex."

Yes, i'm glad they left it as it was when they built the shopping centre, its unique. Down the bottom in the factory part (not very big) are a few shops, an irish shop too!

Kewl, it really towers at that angle.

Bit of trivia, Melbourne central designed by a Japanese architect.

Just put melbourne central into google and came up with this link: [link] a kewl pano from before the renovations.

truly awesome shot.... if I had to find something wrong with it, it would be that you can see another building outside the glass dome... aside from that, great shot.

I really like how it has that old monolithic feel trapped inside our modern worlds views. Though many people can pretty much create a lot of oppinions out of great art, and I have to tell you, this is one of them. Anywho I thought this shot was pretty much genius, especially how the lines stand out so much on the top. Reminds me of a cricle bolt pattern, that swirls and swirls around.

I give this picture a 5 out of 5. Keep up the great work

Yes, well you know theres only so much to photograph in one city This is my take of the shot tower.

Thats all photography is, a scene that the people behind the lenses see diffrently.

They recently did a make over of the shopping centre, its all funky modern, looksbetter then it was before, but it's too in ya face, but they left this centre peice alone, and that i like.
Huge shopping centre now, they added in a 12 screen cinema, or at least i think it is 12.
