yup that's what I'm working on... Treasure Island comic interpretation.. I wish... what's the situation on wanting to do a comic book based on stories like Treasure Island.. do you need to get permission by someone or what???anyway this was just me drawing a concept of Long John Silver, after that I put some photos behind it and made it into a scene of some sort, I needed to draw a pirate
Maybe someday I'll be allowed to show some of the Envo concepts I did for Black Flag

Here's what I found from google: "It is, by now, in the "public domain". That means it is public property and can be used by anyone for any reason. Copyright laws in the US have changed over time, but since Treasure Island was published prior to 1923, it is no longer protected by copyright laws and is in the public domain.
Copyright laws protect a particular work from being used or exploited by others. They protect a particular piece of work, but they do not protect the idea behind that piece. In other words, the idea behind Treasure Island could be used by other writers as long as they expressed the idea in a way different from Stevenson's. "
Good luck!

If your going to make a comic that's based on Treasure Island, I believe it's okay as long as your not trying to make money with it. But if it's a comic version of the original story, you have a bigger problem...
Anyway, this sounds amazing project.
Oh, Long John. This is great drawing of him!
