My first thought was S. Florida - oh well, in FL it's green year round so reality set in. Would be much more enjoyable up there without the year round insect problem to ruin one's enjoyment.

That is so true. Although so far this spring it is to cold for the mosquitoes.

We've had lots of rain (over average for a real change) and above average temps. but no mosquito problem yet - - the purple martins swooping through the yard along with the swallows probably a big help.

Soon there will be a purple martin on her nest arriving here. She's still quite spooked by my presence so she doesn't hang around for me to get that "good" shot. May post anyway - gotta go --

Do you have a purple martin house? My father-in-law has one and they are so neat to watch.

WE have what I thought were purple martins swooping around the yard but did some investigating and they're barn swallows. I was checking out purple martin houses when I made my discovery. I'm so behind on my messages you may have noticed I posted a photo of the Barn Swallow nest and some day I'll get more posted about them.

They're all raised and on their own but one still comes back to the nest, saw it up there today.

I planted gourds a couple years ago partially for purple martin houses but never got anything done with them except putting them in the attic. I intended to work on them over the winter but ended up working too much and didn't get it done.

I know what you mean. I have so many projects half on the go or just stored in my head. Never enough time it seems

One thing about it, we'll never get bored, and I'd rather have it that way.

Tis fun, sorta, my time is about to get shorter for awhile. We're going on vacation so some day a new Journal will happen and there'll be more back up - oh well.

The fun is seeing my step's and their spouses but I hate where one of the step's and grandkids live, wish I never had to go there again but that's how it goes. I'm really looking forward to seeing them all so I've got to get over it (location). A long hot drive in our near future.

Need lots of and then another to cool off.

We went to a get together with a group of people at church yesterday and they had home made ice cream. Most enjoyed it greatly but I don't like any with chocolate in it (I know I'm weird) so I didn't have any.

Thanks, we'll definitely enjoy the visits and hope we don't come across any traffic problems.

I am only a couple of miles from the south end of Lake Manitoba and it is mostly marsh land in between. You would be in heaven George.
