I haven't posted as much here as I'd like recently. So I know many might not know about recent happenings in my life...

I had to have surgery for a condition I live with called endometriosis. I woke up with a scar on the wrong side and told 'good news we didn't find any endo' when the looked in the wrong place I'm now having to go private to get the care I need, but my conditions so advanced and I need a hysterectomy (removing my uterus) now too. But my new surgeon is a specialist and it hopefully should improve my life a lot after the operation! (April 1st - not long now)

I almost didn’t tell anyone about my botched surgery. After opening up so much about my mental health difficulties, it seemed like adding this ontop was taking up too much ‘negative space’ I tried to push it down. But the truth is the anger and sadness I feel deserves to have it’s place and be acknowledged and honoured too.

In art, negative space is an important element of creation, how you choose to contrast the ‘positive’ elements can change or deepen message and meaning, and I wanted to play with this in this artwork.

I've made this into a Limited Edition copper foil print, and it's up in my store with some other new art and shiny goodies 💙 There is also a sale, and all proceeds will go towards surgery costs
