More Gummi Bears fan art, this time of Castle Drekmore - relocated to deep in the heart of Drekmore, with Mount Thorn visible in the distance.Oh, come on. You know that's a magic castle. Just look at the architecture, that's not natural. Being blown off its foundation by an explosion in the basement isn't going to stop it for very long, especially when it's probably a *cursed* magic castle. Though I suspect if the Duke wants to resume residence, he may require a Cunning Plan(tm) to get back inside.
This was also the artist playing around with a complimentary color scheme, since that's something I haven't done much with before. #funlearningproject
Gummi Bears is owned by the Walt Disney Corporation which, alas, is not me.

Ah, sweet childhood memories...one of the best series. And the art style here reminds me a bit of Sleeping Beauty, which is always a good thing.

Do we have any concrete backstsory on who actually built Castle Drekmore? It couldn't have been Igthorn and those ogres of his.

As far as I know there's nothing in canon about the backstory of Drekmore, but I totally agree with you that Igthorn and the ogres never built that castle. Somewhere on the internet there is an interview with Jymn Magon where he says that had the show continued, he'd been planning to have a powerful evil wizard show up and assert control over Duke Igthorn. Only, the guy was going to be a completely incompetent doofus, and Igthorn would have to put up with being ordered around by him. So maybe there's a clue in that. At any rate there's pretty clearly some backstory to Drekmore that the show never got into. But that's the glory of fanfiction, no?

Thank you! Yes, I am hoping at the least to do Gummi Glen and Dunwyn, and probably Ursalia too. Actually there are lots of scenes I want to draw, both indoors and out, since these illustrations are a sort of a fun learning/study project.
