Remember that song 'We belong to the sea'? I love it. I love the sea and I miss it so much. No sea for me this year TT^TT I know I shouldn't complain after the practice in France but still I miss the waves and the sound, the seashells and the sand between my toes. I miss the light beneath the water, the dancing bubbles. The crabs and the jellyfish. And hell, I miss that house I used to call home.Related content

am, this drawing is result of many experiments, mistakes and tries to correct these mistakes. And also a limitation of materials I could use because I wasn't at home. So I started with pencil sketch (at this time I was thinking to make a doodle). All the details was drawn in pencil, then I inked them with unipin fine line but it looked kind of boring so I decided to color it. And I used Grey (the blue part of her hair was ment to be grey) and Sand (wood stain permanent marker by Koh-i-noor - SMRK and BUK) markers but in the process of coloring it a lot of details were lost (the mermaid's hair, the fishes, the bubbles, the jellyfish tentacles) so I bring them back with some white ink. Also I made little points for more bubbles. And I left some parts of the face on pencil. I'm not sure if this was helpful, sadly I don't think I have any photos of the process.
oh, and if you're trying to draw a hair like this -don't think too much, just make free lines with your hand.

This is a really cute idea. I like the limited colors, but what draws me to it in particular is the character's expression. I think it captures perfectly having fond memories of the sea, recalling the smells and sounds.
