Description
Racing the StormThis is the third painting in the DeLorean series.
In this series, all cars in motion are painted as if they were stopped in action by a high speed shutter. These paintings are like a photo that shows just an instant in time. I didn't want to show any blur of motion.
It is acrylic and painted on a 16 x 20 inch canvas.
Go to here to purchase the original or prints.
The city is based on a combination of New York City and the Miami causeways. The top of the bridge and lights, are model after a bridge in Brazil. The bottom of the bridge was based on one in America.

Thank you. The bridge was hard. I had to use some drafting skills to draw it. I had been wanting to paint a storm for a while.

Doc. Brown: The only thing that can generate 1.21 Gigawatts of electricity is a bolt of lightning!
Me: You mean lke that Doc? *points to the lightning*
Doc. Brown: Yes, exactly like that.

Those building took about 3 or 4 hours to do. The big one I know I spent one hour on.
There is a hidden DMC in that big building.

I wanted to give it a weathered look. I even chipped the corners of the concrete lamp foundations.

I used to take lightning pictures when I was in college. I don't know how smart it was to do that, but I got some cool pictures

I'm sure that one has nothing to worry about. I don't see any of the ... unusual ... modifications apparent on the vehicle to indicate it has that particular functionality built in...

I had one guy say his first impression of it was Gotham City. He thought the Batmobil would have looked good insted of the DeLorean.
That wasn't the look I was going for, but after looking at it that way, he has a point.

I can see that, the background from your painting would have worked perfectly for a Batmobile scene, but I do think it's a good fit for the DeLorean as well. The good Doctor Brown and Marty McFly can drive safely through any kind of weather

Did you see that watercolor on the DeLorean site? It was good. I have never been good with watercolor, so I really appreciate good water color work.
