Your jacket billows from a cool night wind. The air is slightly damp, and chills your skin. It’s almost dark, but you keep walking down the tracks.  You can’t tell how long you’ve been walking, it could be anywhere from hours to centuries. Time no longer exists here. It’s just the wind, the damp air, and the tracks. It’s calming, being alone with your thoughts. Everything that’s happened in the past few months can be sorted out, there’s all the time in the universe. You’ve been walking for a long time, but you know that as soon as you leave the tracks you’ll only be a few yards away from where you started. You could walk a thousand years on the tracks, and could just step off and be back home before dinner. So you walk, and you think, until everything makes sense. You leave, feeling refreshed and composed. The next morning, the tracks are gone.
