"Disney's Princess Academy" is a deleted project that was conceived for Disney a few years ago as a hand drawn animated short. The short was written and directed by Olivier Ciappa and storyboards and concept art was done by me. Original music/song was written by Alan Menken. Unfortunately it didn't saw the light of day, but I am proud to share this first concept art of it with all of you.

What I wouldn't give for this to actually have been produced. Would have been a crossover to put Infinity War to shame.

It's awesome to see a blend of Disney Princesses and old school female Disney characters like the Harp, Maid Marian, the Fantasia hippo!

The nostalgia!
Of all the Disney girls I'm most eager to see again from the past, it's Maid Marian. She only appeared for about 30 minutes in Robin Hood, so it's really nice to see her again, interacting with both the classic and the modern girls since the House of Mouse and then some.
And I may be the only one, but I just noticed that the tip of her tail is colored white!

Hmmm. Good eyes! Some of us would never have noticed that, had you not pointed it out! Guess it meant that she would've gotten an update in her design, like the Disney princesses did in 2010, would she? Even if she isn't an official Disney Princess.
Edit: Also, Maid Marian isn't the only Disney Heroine to have a short appearance. Princess Aurora had only 18 lines, and only appeared on screen for a total of 18 minutes in Sleeping Beauty. And she's the titular protagonist!

Yep. Not everyone can play the big hero, or play a vital role alongside the hero to keep the story going.

But still, I'd like it better if Maid Marian, along with Aurora, Alice's sister, Tiger Lily, and their fellow heroine friends had just appeared on screen and spoken a bit more to further their developments as characters.
I mean, that's the whole point of Princess Academy, isn't it? To give some of the Disney heroines another chance to appear on screen with the Disney Princesses, so that they wouldn't be completely forgotten, right? Because for some reasons, I'm getting the impression they'll never make any appearances with the official Disney Princesses in the upcoming Ralph Breaks the Internet.
Besides, this is perhaps one of the only Disney spin-off where Maid Marian doesn't get killed off, like in Princess of Thieves 2001, and in Once Upon A Time.

So to even attempt to revive this scrapped short, and maybe animate it via Flash Animation, would take a lot of time to kinda clean up and update it a bit with the modern elements we have now. Like finding the place and time to add in Merida, Anna, Elsa, and Moana. Hey look at that! They all end with "a"s.
But I get ya. It would be a lot of fun to watch the classics interacting with the modern characters now.
Besides, this is perhaps one of the only Disney spin-off where Maid Marian doesn't get killed off, like in Princess of Thieves 2001, and in Once Upon A Time.Yeah, not my favorite moments either. But at least in both of those, Maid Marian was twice a human (Thrice if you counted the 1952 live-action Disney film of Robin Hood).

IKR? Also, had Jane Porter, Esmeralda, and Tinker Bell remained in the Disney Princess line-up, I wonder what their casual attires would be like?

Of course! Most of us have grown up watching the Disney Robin Hood where he and Maid Marian are both foxes. It's kinda cute, funny, and unique! We're never gonna see another film like that!

We're never gonna see another film like that!We kinda did, with Zootopia. And of course, there's a fox hero in there, who's just as cunning, witty, and beloved by the fandom as his ancestor.

Of course, Zootopia.
But still, I'd like to see a new Disney cartoon where Maid Marian makes an appearance. Is that so hard to ask? After Brian Bedford(VA for Robin Hood), Alan Rickman, and David Bowie all died together around the same time, in the same month, and in the same year of 2016, I kinda want to see Maid Marian make another appearance for just a moment, with a new voice, before Monica Evans is gone. Like I don't know.

Earlier this week, we lost Stefan Karl "Robbie Rotten" to cancer. Sad, I know. But he did left behind a meaningful message for us to pass on for generations. Link
So whether or not, Princess Academy can be revived or not, it's not the end. It's perhaps the beginning of something even grander, which depends on how you make of it. Kinda like how that song from Robin Hood goes, "Life is brief. But when it's gone, love goes on and on." Or Owl City's This Isn't The End.
Overall, best thing Disney can do is live up to Walt Disney's quote, "Keep Moving Forward."
And frankly, that's fine with me. Because even if this story is over, it will still be remembered, and inspire another one. "When one tale ends, another one begins." - Jackie Chan.

Sometimes I look back on this piece and make myself sad because this was such an awesome idea. ;_; I'm still hoping that, someday, we may see something like it.

I'm honestly still pretty pissed off about this not happening... Its not just the fact that it would bring ALL the Disney Ladies together for a change, but actually bring in attention to some important female characters who are seriously underrated!
I pray to God that it will someday become a reality. I mean Disney snubbed The Nightmare Before Christmas back when Burton brought the idea with his poem/short story to them when he use to work for Disney's Animation team. A couple years later, Disney calls him up and BOOM!
