Description The warning light shines through the clouds. Only the lucky few that managed to escape on the ship, or the lonely man living on the great moon will survive. The radiation leak will kill them all, one by one and all at once at the same time. Elessar Galathil knew he should have warned the others when the reactor went critical, but he was too busy worrying about his own life and family to do such a thing. As Orodreth HelyanwΓ«, the only man living on the moon, watches on, he feels a great feeling of helplessness inside himself, the light is there in order to call for help, but from what hes heard, the help will be too late. He feels as if there is something he must do, but he doesnt know what, he falls onto his knees and looks up into the ever greening sky, he pleads for an answer. He stands up and realises what he must do.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well.. yeah, its just a little bit i chucked onto the top of the latest good render i did from Terragen. The light, well, it was going to be Grand and magnificent, but it looked out of place. I'm gunna be creating a series of these... just so i can have a story. I love story writing. I have a novel, around 30 pages so far, wonderful story it is.

Render landscape: 6 hours
Photoshop time: 2 hours (most deciding what to do)
Food time: 4 hours
Finishing the piece and writing a better story than it: Priceless.

I really like the transition of light to dark in the sky, and the warning light works nicely.

CGI water always looks funny to me but I don't know why. In the ocean, the water changes color as it changes moves toward shore.

Allo...

Wow.. such a pretty picture. The moon, and light, seems all-too real. I like the way the water is real. None of that cheep-assed water that looks like it's been made from cardboard boxes. The clouds.. are awsomeness too..

but the only strange thing about it..it looks like the moon its actually a broach of some sort, hanging by the necklace...

o.0; but what would I know, right?
^.~ Well done, you should be uber proud of the peice.

Thanks for adding meh to yer fwends..I just saw that now O.o;;

I love the whole thing: concept, picture. That little tiny rocket (I assume it is a rocket) is super cool.

I agree with the other person in that maybe the waves/ripples could get a little softer as it gets further away. But whatever. Also, there is some posterisation or whatever it is called in the middle slightly towards the top, but it's hardly noticeable. Either that or it doesn't exist and my graphics card is fucked. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanyway, I like it. I like it alot.

tefeari [2005-10-18 11:47:09 +0000 UTC]

I like how you blended the planet into the sky, although generally the edge or side facing the sun is lit up by the sun similiarly as to the planet that the viewer is standing upon.

Perhaps as an additional suggestion, the sharp water looked a bit out of place with the smooth enviroment, so perhaps you can render the water a few different times/ways and blur it to gether similiarly as to how water appears in a long exposure photograph.

darron In reply to tefeari [2005-10-18 12:00:36 +0000 UTC]

Cheers I appreciate the advice. The planet was kinda supposed to have a little light on it, due to the reflection of the moon somewhere. Maybe it is a bit over the top, but hey, its space, whos to say what can and cant happen
