Set Up Analytics For Your Profile
To set up Google Analytics for your profile, you will need to allow Google Analytics to start tracking your profile:
Confirm That It's Tracking
To confirm that it's properly recording your traffic, click the "Reporting" tab on the top of Google Analytics and then either 1) select "Real-Time" in the left navigation of Google Analytics to see live traffic stats 2) on the top right of any report, change the date range to include today.
Important Things To Note
- Past traffic data will not be available; you will only be able to see traffic recorded after you have enabled the feature.
- A Premium Membership is required to use Google Analytics. Tracking will only be enabled for the length of your Premium Membership.
- Not all Google Analytics features will be available with our integration, including: Demographics, Interests, Search Engine Optimization, and In-Page Analytics.
Note that Google Analytics is a powerful tool that can take some time to learn if you have never used the platform. If you have specific questions about how Analytics works, you can use Google's Help Center , which is accessible from the "help" menu while signed in.

alright, this could be a handy feature in the future. It'd be nice if there was a convenient link to the google analytics page in stats or something. For me it'd mostly be a reminder that "Oh, I have my analytics page I can check!". Else I'll just reluctantly add a bookmark to my bar.

I'd really like to know more about my traffic flow, but unfortunately Universal Analytics is still in the beta phase right now and doesn't support demographics and interests. Hopefully Google will implement such a feature soon, but from the blogs that I've been reading, the feature has yet to be added. They said in October 2013 of last year that it will be officially implemented soon .
I know Classic Analytics can collect this sort of information for it's users.

It's not working for me. I tried turning off tracking, regenerating a different tracking number, pasting it, and then re-checking the box (as suggested by Aleayo) but still no joy.

I now see what was going on, though I don't claim to understand it.
If I hit my deviant art page from my mobile phone then yes, I see that hit through Google Analytics. If I hit my page from Firefox then I see that hit. If I hit my page from Google Chrome on a different computer than I see the hit. IF, however, I hit the same page from my desktop ( the one where I usually access deviant art and from which I set up the Google Analytics account) then I do not see any evidence of that page should. Even if I force a refresh repeatedly (using control F5) it seems that those hits do not register. Maybe Google Analytics has some sort of filter that removes hits from the originating machine/browser combination? That seems strange, but I don't know how else to explain what I'm seeing.
Bottom line, however, is that everything is working now. Thanks very much for the quick response, and for being part of a cool and interesting website.

Can you track a portfolio in DA and if yes, how do you track a portfolio in DA. I would like to see how many visits I have on my portfolio and from where they come from.
I placed the url of my portfolio into the Google Analytics ID setup page, generated the code, then put the new code into the DA settings code box. Is that enough to monitor my portfolio?

OK SO. You have to go to your GENERAL SETTINGS and then click GENERAL and then scroll down to GOOGLE ANALYTICS. You might want to add that extra step... Right now it just makes it sound like it's on the left side with everything else.

Without an easy way to access this information from dA directly, I don't think I'll be using this feature.
