About a million years ago, an unidentified human ancestor came to Alayssia; they evolved into the Home People. The Home People build four ancient cities 30,000 years ago, each surrounded by a massive wall to protect them. However, 10,000 years ago, the Titan Zorg, leading the Mutations, destroyed the four cities. As millennia passed, the humans degraded into hunter-gatherers, though only a handful stuck to older Golden Era life. When Daizua ended the war, most were restored to the old ways, though some like the Beach Tribe remain tribes.

Scarabus of the Air Nomads is very religious, and its temples are constantly visited by monks who worship gods, angels, fairies, or demons; they are led by a High Council of Elders. Mantora of the Water Tribe is the source of all their food and water, which is traded evenly through the cities; they are led by a Water Chief and Shaman. Claradia of the Earth Kingdom is the source of Alayssia's economy, which comes in gold; they are led by an Earth King and Queen. Ractoryas of the Fire Nation is a militaristic city, heavily protected by the Royal Fire Guard, who will also protect the other cities if ordered so; they are led by a Fire Lord and Lady.

There are two other species of human. One is the Desert Tribe, which may be descended from survivors of the Genocide who fled to the desert. The other is the mermaid race. Their origins remain a mystery, but the Aquatic Ape Theory suggests that a human ancestor may have taken to the sea to find food and, over millions of years, adapted to life in the sea...
