Description
I have loved the tale of The Last Unicorn literally since I was too young to write my own name. I grew up with the film, which had beautiful artwork, memorable characters and a themesong that will stick in your head long after you've forgotten the names of your grandchildren. When I grew up a little and became literate I then went on to fall in love with the book, and this is more a fanart for the book than the movie (this really hardly resembles the movie artwork at all.)
Here we have the brave unicorn fighting for her freedom in an epic struggle against the gigantic, terrifying red bull.
If you haven't seen the movie or read the book, I highly, HIGHLY reccommend them to you. If you're like me, you'll instantly fall in love with the likes of good natured Schmendrick, the unskillful magician, and the kind hearted but gruff Molly Grue.
If this themesong isn't enough to get you to watch it, I don't know what is: [link]

Nice piece, but I think the bull could look more fierce.

I'm sure that if Peter Soyer Beagle heard about them a Long, Long time ago, he could have made the Red Bull be a Bicorn/Bicorne/Bycorne instead, based on old European Mythology the Bicorn was supposedly an Evil Flesh Eating Monster that was Part Cow & Part Panther with a Human-like Face, often mistaken for an Equine-like 2-horned Unicorn, the real reason it is called Bi-Corn is because it's part Cow & Bovines like the Cow usually have 2 horns, you can learn more about the Bicorn from here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bicorn_%… , admittingly it would have been something else to see a Good Unicorn going up against an Evil Bicorn, too bad P. S. Beagle didn't hear about it in time to add it to his story.

I love how you made this like an age old book. The red book was only following orders.
I am glad to see pieces like this.

I've seen the movie, but I have not read the book- yet. I do own it. Why I haven't gotten around to reading it, I'm afraid I don't know. It is indeed a wonderful tale. I grew up with it as well. This is a wonderful piece you have here. I love the style.

This is lovely. I especially love the story-book quality to it- it harkens back not to disney versions of unicorns but more of a medieval tavern story. I love it.

I love the way the red bull is so much bigger than the unicorn. It makes her story that much more impressing, like this dainty, beautiful creature of light fought against this enormous, evil monster and won. That's what I loved so much about the movie.

I wanna show my kids the movie someday, but I'll probably end up hiding behind me husband (Whoever he may be) along with the kids
I think that picture would do brilliantly in a story book. Have you thought of making your own pictures for the story book and self publishing them?

I've given lots of thought into publishing illustrations, but as of yet I'm too busy with schoolwork and projects to make any useful headway in the realm of contracted work.

I don't think self publishing makes it a contract, it's just publishing one little book just for you. Like buying a book, really
Either way, I know yours would have no touble finding a great career for you.
