Nice picture!!! Even though "Chirin no Suzu" isn't my favorite film, I'm impressed at your drawing of the main character! The dark contrasting shadows make everything look so gritty and intense... just like the film itself.
Have you seen "Sea Prince and the Fire Child"? It's by the same creators of "Chirin no Suzu" and really good! One of my favorite films, to be exact

Well my counterargument to that whole "monster" thing, is that they're actually just as much threatened as their victims and not protected by a combo of fence+dogs+walls. Hence why the Wolf King says "For the world I live in is a hell, where death is always close by. You'll need stamina, determination and the will to survive!"
