Well, I finally did it! Just in time for Mario Kart 8's release day! N64 Rainbow Road!!The coloring of the road from the very front... all the way to the very back... was quite a challenge. Especially adding on the checkerboard patterns on the tiles, until it was ready to blur into the distance. Oh, by the way, I hid a muffin somewhere. Have fun trying to find it~ (I've been doing something similar to what Toxic-Mario has done with his comics, though I don't always hide muffins. I always add in the description whenever I hide one.
)I decided to go on with this after watching the spectacular new trailer that had shown off the return of N64 Rainbow Road. I freaking just had to do it! And it was also because of the lack of Mario Kart 8 fan art (and especially the retro-Rainbow Road fan art as well; and lack of Pony Kart art/crossovers). That, and it was also nice that I finally got to draw actual show characters from MLP: FiM, than just OCs all the time! [I did sneak in 3 though...]
This really was just an incredibly fun and challenging art piece to finish!
It was quite a whole lot of fun drawing this while I waited for Mario Kart 8 to release on this glorious day, if I wasn't too pre-occupied with homework. I would've finished by then if I didn't have a lot of work to do, but we made it just in time! Can't wait to play this game a whole lot more...
Oh, and this is quite the record. There are 21 characters in this one image! First time I've done so many in one (not counting traditional/compilation drawings). Especially a whole lot on non-OC/background characters! I actually have been wanting to draw "Danger Spectrum" (or RD's 'dad') for quite a while now. IT'S ABOUT TIME!

Thank you, very much appreciated, and for checking out the closer details! I've pretty much moved on from the "MLP" styles, although, I'm definitely still moving those "legs" to new destinations! βͺ (I still draw the Mario/Nintendo stuff)
And that's really cool to know. I didn't really hear that expression much. Also, I'm not quite that popular, but I suppose it still will, whoever's a fan of the crossover. Hopefully the future art I've been posting as well.

I personal didn't like that they only added one lap on the track. Why can't it be long as its predecessor.

Because the predecessor would've taken like 6-7 minutes to complete a whole race. And Online, that would be an uber-long wait to join in... Though because they've improved it so much, it seems like such a bummer. It would've been nice to be at least 2 laps.... But I still don't mind it being 3 sections.
But personally, I still have a blast playing this track whenever I can! ^^

Mario Kart DS's Rainbow Road was really nice, and I don't care for the haters, but the 3DS version is beauty.
Obviously this Rainbow Road (N64) is also rather stunning.

This took quite a long time to make and I think it came out very splendid! Β All of the details are very well done and all of the ponies look very good!
I am quite happy that you included Fancy Pants in this. [as I believe I suggested you to do 
All of the work put into this makes it deserve the recognition it has received, I'm proud of you for being able to start and finish this project that I assume even if I had the art skills, or even three times the art skills you have [which would never happen], I would have given up or not even started at all, you have quite a lot of patience!
Now time to give my opinions on each of the karts you designed! [Keep in mind that I have hardly even played Mario Kart so I may point out things that are normal about karts, or something of the sort]
4th place, Rainbow Dash:
Now this kart is quite interesting, it is a bit simple in the front, but looks more complicated in the back area, the sort of Tron like markings on the back area [which sadly I don't know what is called] give it even more of a sci-fi touch than it already had, I like this kart, good job!
5th place, Vinyl Scratch / DJ Pon-3:
This kart seems very much like it fits its pony, w/ all the music notes and what I assume is the lines that appear on sheet music [again, I do not recall what those are called if they even have a name]. Β The circles on the back look as if they are supposed to be a speaker of some sort, which I think is a very nice and creative touch to it. Β I like to think that there is something in her kart, perhaps that could be activated by a power-up of some sort, that would make those circles become a bass cannon, as the fandom calls it.
This kart is very creative even though its shape is also quite simple, you did very well on this one!
8th place, Fancy Pants:
This kart seems to fit Fancy Pants well and it looks very old-timey, though I imagine it would not be as effective as the other [likely why he is in 8th place, I say]. Β Now one thing about this, although it looks very nice, I believe someone of his nobility might be able to afford a fancier / better kart. Β But, then again, he is Fancy Pants, one of the most modest ponies that we have seen in the show, so I imagine he perhaps would rather not waste money on an expensive kart, or however one acquires a kart, and instead have one that fits him but isn't too over-the-top, so I guess it does fit his personality and ways rather well.
Also the expression on his face fits him well, this is obviously going to be one of my favorites in this insanely time-consuming piece!
9th place, Wild Fire:
Now of course this pony is a background pony / one of the creator's OCs so I wouldn't know much about how her personality is supposed to be.
But since I've seen you and perhaps others [not that I can remember them] draw her w/ a similar kart / car, I suppose it fits. Β The kart was drawn well and it looks very nice. Β Though one thing that I'm not quite sure about, though it is probably just my silliness, not sure, the headlights [or whatever they are called, again I'm not sure] on the kart seem to be the same colour as the rest of the kart, when I assume they would be more red / white than that, but this is only my speculation and I could be wrong to think this.
Overall this kart is not my favorite, but it is still very good!
And the expression of her seems well, including the flames that are coming off of the back.
10th place, Scootaloo:
Once again the complicated but simple style of it is very interesting and I think it is a good touch. Β This kart obviously fits the pony, because, of course, scootaloo and scooters. Β For all three of the CMC I see you have put the CMC insignia instead of a cutie mark [since they don't have them], which is a good replacement for this, I think.
Not much to say about Scootaloo's kart, though it does look very different from most of the karts, which is good!
End of kart critiquing
I think that Fluttershy being the pony who fishes up ponies who fall of the track was a good choice [once again I do not know what that is supposed to be called]. Β Poor Rarity!
I'm not exactly sure that Twilight is doing there or what she is supposed to be, if anything, but of course you can't leave out the Princess!
The Blaze cameramare is done well, and a good way to insert an OC w/o really inserting them too much.
Discord looks a bit squished there! Β But being the god of chaos, he probably doesn't care.
Trixie being right next to him seems appropriate.
I had to look at the description to remember that that was Button's Mom, didn't remember that, oops.
And there's Jenzy, at the back, once again a good insertion that doesn't really count as one in the sense.
Crab Apple is hard to see well because of pixels, but still a good addition.
Derpy is just there I guess, nothing much to it.
The fireworks and the buildings below all look fine, the work put into all of this is highly appreciable, and partially makes me want to get this game even though I really can't.
