One of these days I will start doing some full colour "proper" art again I swear *hides*

Okay, I know I was very quiet about it here, but this is something I've been cooking up in my head for the past while. I have it summarised better over on my Tumblr:

Okay so I was watching Spirit videos (cuz childhood animated movies, man) and now I lowkey wanna make a McHanzo AU inspired by it? Like I haven’t worked out the finer details yet, but it would probably be something like this:
Hanzo is a horse shapeshifter who has roamed the south-western United States for years as a wild horse, and after having been captured and treated badly by those who tried to tame him, is rescued by McCree and taken back to his ranch. Only for McCree to find that the horse he rescued is, in fact, more human than he thought. Obviously McHanzo stuff ensues, although I’m not sure of specifics yet. All I have planned after that is that after McCree learns about Hanzo’s true form, maybe Hanzo mostly stays in horse form until he learns more about McCree and earns his trust, and then he spends more time with him in human form because he realises that he loves him? Idk
I think it seems like a cool idea though. I’ve already started sketching rough concepts

So, these are just some rough concepts for the AU I did up a few days ago. Nothing too complex yet, I only wanted to sketch a couple of headshots detailing how Hanzo would possibly look as a horse. Might still tweak his horse form’s design though, I’m not 100% happy with it. Despite drawing endless horses when I was younger, I seem to have forgotten how to horse… how unfortunate.
I’m also not fully satisfied with how Hanzo turned out in the “present” panel, either. His hair was supposed to look more choppy and uneven, but instead it just turned out looking kinda fluffy and soft-looking. Idk, I’m not really the best at short hair am I
I know there’s differences between how he looks in both halves of the page, too. I suppose when drawing traditionally I don’t have the luxury of copying/pasting parts of drawings, to edit small details about them while keeping them similar to the original. I should have sketched this digitally, I know. Would’ve saved me a lot of bother
I’ll do a fullbody ref of both Hanzo’s horse and human forms as they appear in this AU later, as well as McCree’s possibly. We’ll see.
