Description
Haven't posted in a while, and this is hardly earth shattering. I'm trying to learn to paint using fewer brush strokes.I like her lips and features, but not too crazy about the hair.
I'll try and do more fast 20 minute tests like this...

You should give watercolor a shot, if you want to learn how to use less brush strokes, methink.
Otherwise, weird hair highlight aside, it's a pretty sweet portrait.

Already missed watching some new pieces of yours.
Guess you did a good job here. Eventhou the brush is pretty big, the pic has all the details it needs to give a good expression of the girl.
About the hair: I think it's simply the top of her head that looks weird. If I scroll down a little, so that I don't see it, the hair looks fine to me. 
Nevertheless, I like it.

Yeap, you hit it spot on, i was just thinking that as I looked at it again! That's what I'm hoping these quick pieces will reveal--exactly where i take illogical shortcuts, or which drawing habits harm the final image. much less painful to notice these things on short pieces
and you'll be happy to know that I have two pieces from holiday break that are at 75% and 90% and very close to release (working on one tonight). So keep your eyes peeled!
