Description
A drawing depicting characters from a game of Dungeons and Dragons I've been playing. From left to right they are:Felarge: powerful but impulsive, Felarge is a water mage whose spells include the standard magic missile, but also aquakenisis and the ability to drown his opponents even when they're on land. He wears a cloak to hide his fishman identity, allowing him to blend in while in town. His spells are the backbone of the team's ranged attacks, but he suffers from a curse put on him by a demonic god.
Taurus Fourlegs: Strong but short-tempered, Taurus is a centaur fighter armed with a deadly demonblade, stolen from a cultist to the same god which cursed Felarge. He can deliver a beating to any foe with ease, as well as take one and remain standing. He also serves as a pack horse, since he can carry everyone's belongings and still run faster than them. His only shortfallings are an inability to climb due to his hooves and a lack of skill with a bow.
Grigor Shemov: Helpful but naive, Grigor is the cleric and the only human of the group. Armed with a sickle, shortsword and crossbows as well as the ability to call on his god for assistance, Grigor is able to heal wounds as well as inflict them on his attackers. Being the only human means he is often the one who does the talking in town. Unfortunately, he has the tendency to trust those he shouldn't.
There is also another party member, Takumi Satomoto, a lizardman rogue, but he has not been included since he is lacking in character, and only recently joined this party, while the other three have known each other for months, so he doesn't fully feel like one of the group to me yet.
This drawing was a lot of fun, and challenged me in many ways. It is the first time in my memory that I've drawn characters by starting with stickmen and building up, and it certainly made things like the horse body easier. I also made a lot more adjustments later in the process than usual to get things how I wanted. Taurus presented many challenges including getting the demonblade to look good, drawing his horse body, and adding texture to his chainmail. Felarge's pose and hands (hands are always tough) also gave me some trouble, but in the end, I'm really happy with the result.
