BreakTheDay — To Speak of Dreams

Description I could tell you that you were (or read: your body was, respectfully) in a bright yellow sundress. My psyche noticed its fit and flow. Lovely.

I could say that I stood in the garage of a house, of all places.
Yet, romanticism was thick in the air. Old world streets and lanterns.
A fog, distant street lights fighting the last remnants of the sunset.
Comfortable moisture. The refreshing air of a beautiful day.

I could say that my heart skipped when you came around the corner.
With words lost beyond my awakening, we spoke so easily.

In a mere moment of time, intangible in dreams, we were close.
It was a closeness of friends. Knowing no more, and not wanting.

My arm held you tightly across the curve of your lower back.
We shared our eyes. They carried our thoughts. We were free.

In longing, as if we were both about to disappear, we kissed.
There was a barrier. Not an expected one, as no lines were crossed.
But a discomfort as our own personal line broke between our lips.
So we instinctively followed that line, though it couldn't stave passion.
Our kisses trailed onto our mutual cheeks with a need to express.
Nose to nose, sweet breath to sweet breath, our eyes again locked.
And in the burning space between, our line was incinerated.

Just then, a new kiss ignited. And this - was our kiss.

Soft, but as firm as the depths of compassion.
The air exploded with electricity beneath a wave of belonging.
Readjusting and rekindling, there was only connection to be found.
Your sundress ruffled gently in the breeze, illuminated yellow hues.

Joy spread throughout my being, filling my soul with warmth.
Warmth that became light in my eyes. That light became the sun.

I awoke.
I had left the dream, but the dream did not leave me.

I could tell you about all of these things.
But I have no words to match the depths of the feeling.
As only a dream can impart.

Outside my mind. Inside my heart.

I hear those romantic clouds can be dreadfully deceiving; one minute you're floating along, the next, you're plummeting to earth like a dropped pebble, thinking, "Well, damn. That looked solid enough."

Great work. I love the poetic feel, and almost ethereal quality to the descriptions.
Interesting fact:
I own one yellow, one pink, and one turquoise raincoat.

It's true. In dreams, as in life, things can change in an instant. Consider that further reason to enjoy each incredible moment...

Glad you like this writing. I hope it feels good. And I...have not a single raincoat...

Yes, they can. But that's the beauty of it. Wether the change turns you into something sad, sorry and utterly alone, or turns you into something iridescent and glowing is all part of the adventure, isn't it?

Really? For shame! Go buy one. They're quite practical, and fun to wear when there's not a cloud to be seen.

That is the beauty of it. Puts the life in living. Makes us the true, deep human being.

I may have to get one - just to make a squeaky noise while I walk in clear weather...

Not necessarily. Some are corrupted because they can't handle it.

Yes, it's quite fun - annoying people, and all. ;D

I do suppose everything is corruptible, or can be misused...
Like raincoats, for example.
