Mixed media photomanipulation combining an image of mine entitled Pink Rose Macro and an abstract acrylic texture .

The icon that I use is of Oliver Cromwell who led the roundheads in the English civil war.  I found it on the internet a long time ago.  Personally I like democracy and prefer to have a republic rather than a monarchical system.

Thanks for the background information Michael Ironically many French-speaking people here in Québec like to call English speakers squareheads They tend to resent anything and everything related to the Queen (on our $20 bill for example) for the sake of French sovereignty. Which puts me in a difficult position because my father was French-Canadian and my mother is British, but in the end I'm happy Canada is independent enough to govern its own affairs while retaining official yet amicable relations with the UK through the Commonwealth. Democracy is the best form of government, but still nice I find to cling onto the vestiges of an ideal kingdom

England was  republic for a short time, bound to happen again all things being well.  Though hopefully without a civil war.

Oh you mean the royal family had been dethroned during the time of Cromwell? How did they get re-instated? If I can recall from my history lessons in the French revolution across the Channel, some royal heads went a-rollin'
