Description A dust particle, drifting through the vast depths of space, nothing more. The mere existance: nothing more than a small shift on an infinite scale.
However, discovering new worlds is what we are striving for, creating habitable environments and basking in the glory of fame. Like a web, society spreads to foreign places, ultimately covering anything our eyes can see, our hands can feel. It is our goal to reach new heights, to surpass anything else: Transcendence.

Decided to revamp another old piece . The basic concept stayed the same (again): 7 planets and a nebula that stretches accross. I basically wanted to see how much I have improved in creating spacescapes over the past three years, so I took the image I loved most back then (because it was, when I created it, the absolute limit of my skills).

Haha, well, I guess it's a little more refined than the older version
Big thanks to the guys at the SpaceArt-chat and especially ~NeverSurrender77 for their input!

Also, a wallpaper-pack!

Hello there!

I have mixed feelings with this piece.
In first place, the background is stunning; there is nothing to say wrong about it. The brushes there make this looks like a painting, and it is clearly noticed that you know what you were doing there. It has balance, and the colors guide the eyes where the image flows... but that is not that there is on this piece.

Sadly, I can see two different pieces on this piece. The mentioned background (the nice part), and the planets, that are not half as good as the background.
The good part of the planets, is the texture used and the whole planet creation, but that's all wha I can say good about them. The shadows are too strong for the light showed on the piece, and obviusly, the direction of the shadows are wrong. They should come from the bottom part (the bigger planet), and also from the back, from the refection of the nebula. Lastly, the shadow kills all the effect of the shape -it should be round, but it looks plain-

Of course, the shadows were added with the intention to cast a line of shadows under the planets, but that should be done with the same direction of the light source, so we don't catch the mistakes.

That's most of what I can say about this piece.
Oh, and the technique stars are so low, just because the shadows mistakes. The technique is obviusly better than what I rate, but there is not a place where I could rate that xD.

That's all!
Have a nice day, and good luck!

You are welcome!
I tried to cover all what it catched my eye on this piece, but there are a lot of things that can be said of this, besides what I already said xD

I am happy to hear that you have liked it (=
Cheers!

This is one of my absolute favorites right now. Β I mean -- my gods! Β Look at those dust clouds! Β Thought it was a close-up of a gas giant at first.

Planets are too flat, but dude, the background painting is AMAZING. Really nice work there. I think there's a lack of balance that kills the otherwise perfect execution of the background, with the planets.

I really like the flowing wispy colors in the background. I think the glow of the planet really adds to it too.

Sweet Jesus! That's one hell of an improvement!

Its like some unobtainable balance between photo realism and stylization.

I kinda have to stop looking at it.... ....to intense...
