**AC3 FORSAKEN SPOILER ALERT**
in forsaken, haytham would always say how he wished he was an assassin since his whole templar way was built off of lies and betrayal. he envied connor because he wanted to be him. in his position. haytham always hinted at the fact how he wanted out of the life he had and raised connor with ziio. he could've had it. and if he had given connor lee, haytham would've changed his mind because none of them would be after him and call him a traitor. =/
this is all sorts of fucked up.

If Haytham had come into Connor's life while his mother was still alive, I think he could have easily raised him to be a Templar. The fact that he didn't and Connor becoming an Assassin was a bit of Haytham's fault although for Connor to be Ezio's descendant, Haytham had to be the descendant just the same which meant he betrayed the Brotherhood then Connor made up for his daddy by rejoining the Assassins. It came full circle. Still love the game.

i feel more bad for haytham than connor. haytham wanted out of that life , and throughout the game i thought haytham was actually friends with johnson, pitcairn, etc... but he wasn't. he didn't even like them. just like i thought charles was basically he best friend , totally wasn't the case. i feel like i'm connor in a way. i misjudged him. :C
don't judge me but i have the BIGGEST crush on haytham. lol

Having played Rogue i feel like Shay might have been the only person Haytham considered a friend and i amm pretty sure Shay thinks of Haytham as a friend even if he would never say it out loud out of respect of Haythams position as Grand Master

In my opinion, but after reading the novel after playing the game, you do have a point. Haytham really didn't deserve that all, if only he just banded together with his son.
