I gotta admit, I grew up with the cartoon rather than the comics. I hated Raph until I got introduced to his original personality through the movie and comics.
Incidently, have you read the IDW comic release yet? It's like a mix of the 2003 series and the original comic.

Ha I've been doing the same, those IDW ultimate collections are brilliant. I really hope they get around to doing it for Tales of the TMNT too.

Yeah, I never really got into Tales. I think I missed too much of the story to get it, since Tales seemed to be where they tied up loose ends, the proverbial 'off-screen' comic. If they continue from issue one I might get it better.
