I love the symbolic meaning of these flowers. And those humming birds are very nice touch. You nicely summed up the main value of being a philosopher - thinking is the key, the thoughts are like flowers, which later can born new ideas and attract people (presented by birds) who will gain something to enrich their own life. I'm also keen on Victorian clothes, so for me this is really a masterpiece.
By the way, your father looks very dignified.
