I would say this is a chicken coop. You can't exactly grow corn in a forest. That does look like milled lumber and just one coat of paint, so I'd say 60's or newer is my guess. Can't tell if it's pressure treated but the amount of rot says it probably isn't. Looks like someone set fire to it, or it was hit by lightning, it's burned in some places

It wasn't originally forest. Used to be open farm land years ago. But you're probably right. A nearby one is still used for birds by a bird sanctuary
