this must be blood, the slaughter of innocents, as the title suggests - blood running down the apparently grimy walls of an old brick sewer - this is a political statement as well as an artistic one: authoritarian power as a means of subjugating the masses, the proletariat, the eternal struggle of the free comman man against the bourgeoisie
