Reason I titled it this, was due to the trees. They seem dead however life was still given as you were able to see most of the trees shredding its skin revealing new life. Reason for the dark was due to the actual colour of the tree. It was black due to the fires that had occurred 7th Feb 2009 (Black Saturday)

Wow, this is really breath-taking! I love the big contrast between the trees and the sky. The dark areas are really dark, and the brighter areas almost white. Yet it is still not a completely black and white piece, there is a blue-ish tone which adds a little mysterious effect to it. I also love the angle of this, which makes it seem like the trees are reaching out for the sky. The branches are very clear, and the more you look at it, the more wonderful the entire piece becomes.
I only rated a little low on originality, because many people like to take picture of trees like this. However, I do think that this photo is different from others, especially because of the absence of leaves. It looks a bit winter-y, like a snow scene, but there is no snow. Quite a mysterious photo!
I love your title for it, too, and your description. I love to read artists comments, because it can add a deeper meaning to the piece.
