"Three Heroes appear at worlds' edge. A human, a monster, and prince from the dark."-----
*You can't think of anything to write in the description.
*You say that you really enjoyed making this!
*You hope it's to everyone's liking!
*You then copy the text from the upload of the Deltarune lineart... because your mind has gone blank...

This was fun to draw, all the characters are actually really good. I didn't put Lancer in as I wanted the main trio only. I know it's such a short game, and not actually so much of a full game but I really like it! Toby did another great job, though if he continues to work on this concept as a full on game I can definitely see it taking off ^^ I think my favourite theory on this game is that while Undertale is a creation that works to find out how a player interacts with possibilities and parts of the game, Deltarune works to find out how you interact with your "vessel".
You save over Kris' file right at the beginning essentially destroying their ability to make their own choices, and throughout you find options for Kris to take and it's clear that sometimes they are trying to stop you from making those choices and they try to resist. It's a really interesting way to warp Undertale's primary concepts and drive and it makes you think about what both games really mean. Especially when we have the whole Gaster theories going around too...
To sum, I believe that Undertale was about learning morality in a broad sense with a set of characters/enemies in a world, and what a player can do to the world around them under the guise of having no repercussions. Whereas Deltarune offers that same test of morality but in relation to the person you play as, and what your decisions actually do to them specifically.

Characters Kris, Susie, and Ralsei belong to the Undertale franchise, specifically within the Deltarune game, and creator Toby Fox. I only own the artwork seen here. Do not attempt to steal design, or claim as your own. It belongs to me - AuraGoddess.

That's because it isn't a full game. It's not even technically a sequel either.. It's essentially a 'beta' test to see how the fanbase would react to the new play style and approach to a new part of the Undertale world. I'm pretty sure Toby himself has said it's not a full game, and if he continues to develop Deltarune to fully fledged Undertale 2 it would take an estimate of another 2-3 years minimum of development. It's not technically a failure at being a new game if it isn't even a full game. I imagine the full thing would have way more impact than this small chapter and would likely tie in way more into Undertale to appease fans considerably :3

Deltarune just doesn't feel like Undertale did

Sequels to games rarely have the same effect as their original, and their effectiveness at giving players the same joy doesn't tend to set in till well into a game when a player is invested in the story... Which is difficult when Deltarune is unfinished. However I don't think any sequel will ever be on par to Undertale, because of how big an impact it made on the community, which is the reason why I was so surprised Toby has decided to make one. I thought that he would leave it at the one game to preserve it's feeling but I guess he has other ideas. We'll just have to wait and see.. Perhaps the finished game will be more to your liking :3
