I can't imagine the writing to be very legible were it to be actual size...
but other than that, great concept.

Very nice, Very professional.
Minimalistic is nice, I love the whitespace, it makes for a very clean design.
Keep up the good work!

i love the colors regardless of the people that are blind and have to hold it up to their faces..
--simplicity is the key..
--and i like the AB-LOGO and the copyright sign... makes it an ABC.. haha.
i like it.. balace is off a little but it makes it diffrent.. some people will get it and some people wont.. oh well..

I disagree with ppl who say it needs an illustration...I think the clean look adds a sense of professional presence. The only thing I would critique would be using yellow with the white; but you are the artist and would know better. Anyways...those things will def get u paid.

only problem for me is that the colours make the text very difficult to read.

Clean design. Although, those colours in print media will look really hard to see, I'd say. Especially if you do glossy standard stock.

You've made a gorgeous choice of font, however, the weight you're using is far too light! It might work in a very dark shade but with what you've got going, a client will have to really look at the card. You want something that they don't have to hold up to their face to read Maybe instead of using thin you could go with a roman or demi.

Very nice and simple, though I think a little graphic to illustrate what you could do would be good.

u gonna have a flip side? cause if u do, u could just have ur logo name and what u do on the front....and on the flip side have ur contact and other info on the flip side
π: 0 β©: 1
atobgraphics In reply to caused [2006-04-28 14:42:08 +0000 UTC]
Possibly, but depending on price I hoping to put some artwork on the reverse

caused In reply to atobgraphics [2006-04-29 06:22:38 +0000 UTC]
if you are able to get stuff printed on the back, i would personally put ur contact details there... cause there is not enough space to have details of work on the flip side
center your composition on the front, cause at the moment i think that there is to much white on the front and having the logo to one side unbalances the design
reverse ur colouring on the flipside so u have ur type as white, and ur ground as a green gradient...
but if u do end up not being able to print both sides, maybe think about changing the height of the card to 30mm instead of the normal 45 - 50mm, just to cut down on the negative space...
hope some of these comments help man....u got a really nice form for the logo, but at the moment, its focus is getting taken up by the white and contact details...

looks ver nice and clean. i don't understand these ppl who wants to put something in the corner, it would just clutter the design. I think this will look pretty kickass when printed

this is cool! try a plain color for the background that creates a contrast with the info color (maybe a neutral color). i think white BCs are a little dull.

Very nice, I can't help but think that the top right needs something, perhaps a high contrast shillouette of the man himself?

cleanup [2006-04-28 10:15:24 +0000 UTC]
Why is there a Β© symbol next to your logo? Shouldn't it be a β’?
Also, it seems it would be rather small and unremarkable when printed on a standard 61 mm x 85 mm card (or whatever Australia usesβI'm not sure). And depending on what type of stock you print it on, the fine detail of your contact info and "GRAPHIC DESIGNER | ILLUSTRATOR, etc." might bleed a bit and look a little sloppy.
I'd make everything a bit bigger.
It would be need if you could have it all embossed with reflective ink, so that all the text and the logotype glimmered when held up to light.

atobgraphics In reply to cleanup [2006-04-28 10:27:39 +0000 UTC]
Its gonna be professionally printed with gloss laminate on heavy matt board so wont bleed at all, its not as small as you think its very legiable.

i'm liking what's going on with the 'o' and 'g' in typography, but not consistent, i guess that can only happen with letters of a similar shape or something
i've always liked your avatar, how come you didn't go with that?

that's very nice...
allthough I think there are too much white areas... maybe make it less tall... or use a anthrazit or carbon gray...
but, do as you wish, it's your ID

Liking the "ab" font, is this a compliment slip? or just an example of the logotype?

ab font and alignment is nice, not to keen on the gradient and the border, border could look a lil wierd if it was accidently cropped to short (damn scalpels)
i think would look nice to include some kind of subtle/faded illiustration/shape to the top right space, you've got loads of nice stuff to chose from, maybe have it rotated and coming in from the right side?

I know what u mean.
Wanted simple clean cut straight to the point design.
Planning on putting some of my designs on the reverse side, money depending.
Its going to be professionally printed so crop isnt too much of a problem.
Appreciate the input, thanks

cool cool, no worries,
i will say though, even with professional print shops, card/slips etc. are often cropped in bulk, so sometimes you can get some off centre crops, so its worth bearing in mind.
