January 5th around 4am my Aunt Linda passed away in Michigan. I made this as sort of a memorial in honor of her. She was only 48 and a beautiful person. I'm not going to be at her memorial service which is tomorrow. So instead I have been working on this piece since I found out she's passed over. This is just a way to help me grieve I think.Also I am very new to this type of photo manipulation so any pointers are wlecome.

Actually, I won't be able to point out any problems with this manip, it turned out lovely and very to the point you wanted to bring across....let the light guide and angels show the way.

The only thing I could suggest is to take a soften brush (assuming you use PSP, try about 5px width, 50%hardness, 100% density, 75% opacity) to the sunburst filter.

Just take the brush and smooth it out. At that width/opacity/hardness/density, it won't do much, if any, noticeable damage to the art. Naturally, as it's a soften brush, it will smooth things out a bit. Or, you can do it with layers.. but I assume you've already put the whole thing together.

I'm just so glad she didnt pass on my birthday which is the 8th!! I think a day away now? I don't even know what day it is. lol
