Description Size: 59.4 x 84.1cm/21.6 x 33.1" (A1 Landscape)
Media: Ink and brush drawing
Stage: Completed

This is for Expressive Drawing for Term Three, Week One at Whitecliffe College.

We were given a selection of artworks to choose from, and had to make a piece in response to it. The artwork I chose had a large white rose in the bottom third of the page, and gold coloured Baroque swirl patterns on a black background. Some of the swirls joined to form the shape of a skull, so that was my starting point.

This piece has been more trouble than it's worth, both with lecturers and my family. Completed in about 25 hours (I haven't slept since yesterday morning - I had to finish it).

for some reason it reminds me of wedding vows, the whole 'to death do us part'.. but I love it
