Watched Appleseed (2004) recently for the first time and followed it up with Appleseed Ex Machina. Enjoyed them both but I must admit I preferred the style and edge of the first one in regard to the animation. It was a really interesting blend of "realistic" environments with the characters having a more traditional cel shaded look.

This is the first of two versions, this one showing the characters less and being more "moody".

This got me inspired to create my own piece in that style. The "mech" is a model I found for Sketchup that I was able to convert to an .obj and import back into Daz and play around with the textures a little.
