well number 1 is that they approached baby seals (paul and linda mccartney did this too) and took photos with them. Getting that close to a baby seal is illegal, not even considering the fact that those arent even the seals harvested. Number 2, the SSCS are still toting the same misguided facts and info that have been outdated for about 20 years.

I don't think anyone should appraoch seal, babies, beaters or full grown adults. After all the video footage I have seen, too much stupidty form people who want to pet the seals or think no one is watching them with a camera when they are inhumanely killing them. and I know there are quite a few landsmens who do it humanely with a single gunshot to the head.
but the human aspect is only half the problem.. if the warm up and stay that way for too many longer period of a particular season.. not only will the seal not produce enough young but other predators besides humans with feel the effects of the seals deminishing populations. Now I realize there are plenty of different species of seals.
I love animals, and it may sound nieve of me ( I do get eyerolls from pro seal hunters and supporters) but if something isn't done to helps these northern species to survive every years. celebrities will be the least of the worries and arrgrivations.
I am so sorry I jusr rambled on there.
I guess what it all boils down to is that humans who insist on photographing wild the seals or others and those that overhunt and overindugle in natrual resources are going feel the effects sooner or later. I just hope it isn't within my lifetime..or ever. I hope humans will smarten up and learn from their interference and greed.
