Description
The axe. A versatile tool and a powerful weapon all in one package. The number one companion to any respectable dwarf. Here you see a collection of one-handed axes, being the first two of the battle-type and the others side arms rather.
Those weapons vary in their level of refinement and decoration but they all belong to a "purposeful" range, instead of a more expensive item with much more status-related significance. Those are meant to be used, but are still miles ahead of comparable tools from less skilled races. They are all made out of the excellent Dwarven steel and hafted with Yellow Birch, Ash or Oak wood. The geometry and balance of the weapons are flawless and the edge is razor sharp and incredibly durable.
Their heads commonly sport a secondary bit in the form of a hammer or a spike, meant to defeat armour by punching through or just delivering concussion force through it. The beard of the blade is also commonly sharpened, allowing for hooking motions to become a potential wounding blow. Those are nimble, versatile weapons capable of delivering cuts from many different angles as well as to grab, trap, bash and hook.
A fearsome weapon in the hands of the centuries-experienced Dwarven warriors indeed.

Beautiful designes! You know the first one reminds me of a ceremonial miner's axe . I've always though of dwarven weapons as tools as well: Firstly because my love of 'The Hobbit' Iron Hill's dwarves carrying mattocks into battle; and secondly because I imagine my dwarves as a folk of proud craftsmen: They would create tool of beautiful designs but with a functional purpuse in mind.

You have sharp eyes and deep knowledge my friend. This was indeed my inspiration for that axe in particular after having seen the original ax in a museum. Well spotted!
I agree with your perspective on dwarven culture and I always keep those things in mind when designing my Enanos.
Can I hope to see some of the short bastards again in your amazing style some day in the future as well?

Why can I give this only one fav?
My dwarven heart pounds so loud right now.
The one on the left and middle right seem a bit uncomfortable to grip or slide along with the metal studs, but every single design of them is so beautiful!!!
What's written on the middle and middle right one? Even when enlarged, it's hard to tell some of the runes apart, and some of them are unknown to me.
My personal favourites: Middle left, because of the gorgeous engravings.
And the one on the right, because of the overall gorgeous design, and it seems to have the most "features".
A wristsling, so it's harder to disarm one, an axe to hit or work, a hammer to hit (or maybe work) on the backside, a spike at the bottom you can use to attack, and, if it's long enough, it can also function as kind of a cane, with the spike for additional safety of step in rough terrain.
Durin would be proud of you ^^

The metal studs are a commonly found feature on historical Polearms, so it was either not uncomfortable or the benefits of extra grip outdid the downsides.
The runes are a font I created myself to look a lot like runes but in fact are our standard Roman alphabet and it is written in plain english. Keeping that in mind, try again, and if you fail still I will tell you.
The blue one is designed a bit like a mountaineering axe so the butt spike can be used to arrest oneself from sliding down a snowy slope.
Thank you for your appreciation.
Cheers.

Ah, okay. Maybe they look just sharper in your image than they'd actually be.
I don't speak the tongue of the Celts, Germanics or Northmen either, but I know one of the Rune Alphabets (as in, which Roman letter is associated with which Rune).
Middle one: "May Mahals Wisdom and Thurrs Fury guide my axe"(?)
Was easier now that I understand how you wrote it.
Was still pretty difficult to tell some of them apart, especially lower on the shaft.
The on middle right one? I have no idea. Even when I made the image as large as possible, I can't really tell them apart, made even more difficult by the lower contrast between black-ish runes and grey-ish axehead.
Yeah, that's kinda what I meant with "kind of a cane".
English's not my native tongue, so I probably made it pretty complicated to read ^^"

Sharp is relative. It depends on how thin and soft your hands are. Also, this is for war, not for chopping wood for 6 hours straight.
Well done! You read it right! The other one reads: Mahal's Strength.
Nah your english is great and your explanation is clear. English is just my second language as well.
Cheers.

Thank you ^^
What made it the most difficult to read the first time was really that you took the Runes that look most similar to the Roman letter to represent it.
I tried to read it the way I know it. And that way, it didn't make any sense.
In the Rune Alphabet I know, the Runes you took for Y, S, I, D and G are the Runes for Z, J, N, TH (I think) and P.
