Oooooh....Where do I begin?....
Firstly, love the composition of the blue sky, green fields, and brown foreground--nice rule of three there. The rays of sunlight coming down and the white birds combined with the river really help to tie this all together and keep the eye moving. The wanderer in the foreground really gives a sense of scale to this, and the artifact adds a sense of mystery to the wonder of that wide-open plain. To top it off, the painterly feel of the whole thing is gorgeous--and I just noticed, but I like that sharp shadow the artifact is casting, and how it contrasts with the soft shadows of the clouds. In all, a most excellent piece of artwork.
