Description

At this point I don't have a whole lot to say anymore about the stuff I make, I'm still exploring different ideas and trying new stuff while making pieces I enjoy. I've been told exactly how to make my art for almost two years at school now, and long before that I felt pressured to make it a certain way in order to gain the most attention and awe from others. I wouldn't complain about this since I feel the challenge made me work hard to get better and thus built my skill, but I've finally had enough of being told how to make my art.

Again, I will make a much bigger life update journal once I have all my plans down pat, since there are really big changes happening that will open a whole new chapter for me, but for now you'll just have to sit tight enjoy the art

Hey, I totally get that. Its why I never really enjoyed art class with a certain teacher. They are often so bias and just want to see what they like. It's also a big part of why I'm hesitant to do commissions, as doing paid work for others feels like its opening the door to harsher criticism. Not that constructive criticism is bad, its just added pressure on you as you develop your style and technique.

Just focus on making art that makes YOU feel good, not what you think others want or what they tell you they want. You're doing great and its been interesting to watch you develop and grow

Good art teachers are invaluable, but unfortunately those can be hard to come by Being so strictly monitored and controlled has helped me become a better artist in the past, but at some point it just started to hold me back. I feel breaking free from that has breathed new life into my art Thank you for your kind words!

I was lucky with my first one in high school, I think he took a liking to me cause I was above the norm and he definitely praised and encouraged me quite a bit. He also was the type to talk himself down about his skills, and not think that he was as good as he really was. But my other teacher was horrible, she was so choosy and constantly rushed us. I get anxious with deadlines and when I'm anxious I don't do as good of work. Honestly, its why I have no interest in taking art in college or as making it a real career. I'd rather enjoy it as a hobby than loathe it as a job. Drawing what you want, when you want, is definitely very freeing lol if only it paid the bills xD
