Description
Strange, this would not load into the category I choose for it first. Wonder why? Still, this is good enough. This piece made me realize that I really want to learn more watercolor techniques! I know so few but I use them frequently. The jackpot wheel in the middle was mostly made for fun. I just came up with some random attributes that's important in life.
I'm not sure if my spelling is readable so to make thing clear the text in the wheel says:
'Love', 'Work', 'Friends', 'Money', 'Family' and 'Bankrupt'.
I had to throw in a "Bankrupt" too since in life you sometimes got to take chances and you certainly take one by spinning that wheel!
Finally avaliable as print!

This is beautiful. It looks like the spade pony's tail was difficult to make, though.

Thank you! Nah, the tail was not that bad. The wheel in the middle actually took twice as long to draw/paint as the tail and mane together XD

I love how you come up with all these different MLP designs & that each of them are totally unique and very beautiful. And it's great to see you use the watercolours again. The colouring is very beautiful & flawless.

I liked how you designed each pony for each card suit. Heart is my favorite!
The way you colored it is so good! *___*
Congrats!

This is lovely! Wonderful designs on each of the ponies, as well as trappings for each. The blend of colors is very attractive as well.
Why does this make you want to learn watercolors, for the subtle way the colors can be blended and shaded? That comment seemed a bit random. Did you use markers for this? Sometimes it's hard to tell the media used from an online pic.

Thank you! This is entirely made with watecolors except the lineart which is made with waterproof pen.
What I mean is that I want to learn more watercolor techniques. I've used the "wet in dry" -method ever since I first started with watercolors and it's a habit that is kind of hard to break out of because the method works so well with me and I do get eye-pleasing results.
Still, I do love learning new stuff so I do want to try stuff like "wet-in-wet", mixing/blending colors more and maybe even try to do stuff without having lineart to follow. I need to let myself loose some more and not just follow the same pattern I do every time I work with watercolors. I hope that made more sense

Heh... had to look up just what you meant by "wet in dry" to be certain of your meaning. I've used some of both "wet in dry" and "wet in wet" most of the time I've used watercolors myself, but didn't know the terms as such. (shrugs) I'm mostly self-taught by experiments, so that shouldn't be surprising at all. Mostly I've used "wet in dry" as it does give one more exact control of where the color is supposed to go, and I rather like having a LOT of control. On stuff like art, I can be a bit of a control freak... (blushes)
I've meant to do more of the really "wet in wet" experimenting for years, but never sit down and bloody do it. Too many other things I'm working on and such. But of those works I've seen done in this method... they are stunningly lovely! Almost random mixes of the colors the artist chose...
Right now I'm in a marker phase, although I still have my watercolor paints and pencils. Somewhere in all my boxes (just moved last month) I've got my inking pens, more than just the .005 Micron that I know right where it is. (shakes head ruefully) I should be unpacking things today, but the light is wonderful and I'm thinking of doing art before it sets in a couple more hours.

I'm also self-taught. I like learning new stuff but at the same time I don't want to ruin anything by going overboard with (by me) a never before tested technique "Wet in wet" are pretty unpredictable so I guess that's one reason I haven't tried it much yet.
