Description
The infamous "anime piece" that my art teacher was convinced that the AP judges would hate. About the point where I realized I did not give much of a damn what score I got as long as I was happy with my portfolio.Duality as I define it is the relationship between two opposing forces within one or multiple individuals. My portfolio explores the ways in which these ideas present themselves and work against each other to form a whole.
This one is about our inner selves verses the outward appearance that we project. A bubbly girl to hide a solemn personality and lack of self esteem, a dark girl that hides a free and confident spirit. Done with ink and crayola markers.

Why all the anime hate? Even though it's really popular, maybe too popular, and many rabid yaoi fangirls have totally massacred the image of an anime/manga, it's still a form of art! Hmm, sometimes that really bugs me.
This may not be realism, but it sure isn't some generic shoujo you see pasted all over the internet. You have a really nice balance of "in-between", you know? ^^ I like this style you have. I'm glad you didn't listen to them.
Anyway, the concept behind this is really great! You did express it very well. I really love how you got the wood effect down on that building, and I also like the way you did her stockings. And the poses on those sillouhettes are awesome <3
