Description
How Dionysos met Ariadne. Her fabulous dress caught his eye and then he realized that the rest of her wasn't so bad, either.Since Ariadne came from Crete, I imagine her as looking very Minoan when they first met.

Okay, am I the only one who thinks Dionysus was the one that made Theseus forget to sail the white sail? I've looked at every version of this myth, as it's one of my personal faves, and find no mention of it aside from Ariadne cursing Theseus to do just that and 'the gods' answer her plea. That's as close as I can find. But it makes so much sense to me.
He sees her and falls in love at first sight then asks what has her in such a state and she tells him everything, cursing TheseusΒ as she does. Enraged at such despicable actions and wanting to prove his love for her is true, Dionysus as the god of wine, merrimentΒ and madness conjures a barrel of fine wine that one of his crew stumbles upon and they break it open. Finally, in his drunken, almost crazed state the 'hero' forgets to sail the white sail which causes his father's death. When Dionysus returns to Ariadne and tells her what he's done for her, and that he would never hurt her the way that prick did, Ariadne is so moved that she gladly accepts his offer of marriage goes to Olympus with Dionysus, where they live happily ever after...
At least, that's how I see it...

I like Dio's dress better, it's more flamboyant in color

The bright purple color is more flamboyant, yes.

I wonder if Achilles had a very feminine body and not grossly muscles. From what I remember he went into hiding as a girl so he didn't have to be dragged to Troy.

Yes, but I think he was very young when he did that. Like in his early teens or something.Β

Dionysus: Then I decided the dress looked better crumpled at the bottom of my bed, which she was fine with once she realized I wasn't a girl.
Vanessa: yeah, you certainly can't hide THAT 'Grape-vine.'

Poseidon:Β Amphi, you're qualified for lots of things. Spirit squasher. Hope dasher. Age accelerator.
Amphitrite: That's enough, thank you. You know I should be paid plenty for the dangers I face around this house. You think your underwear stops dancing all on its own? I stalk it, I club it, I trick it into the hamper. You try doing that once a week and see if you don't deserve hazard pay.
Poseidon:Β Amphi, I'd probably be more appreciative if you waited 'til I took'em off first.

Awww, he's adorable. I love your portrayal. I normally hate people who call strangers "honey", but he's so cute that I would make an exception for him. That curly hair! And his blushing cheeks - he is a manic pixie dream god, exactly what Ariadne needs to distract her from her misery.

Thank you!
Haha! Manic Pixie Dream God... What a wonderful description of Dionysos! Yes, that is exactly what Ariadne needs right now.

Well, that relationship was probably tricky, since the canon myths don't talk about it too much. I still like your take upon it, though.

Thanks! Yeah, the myths don't even agree if Ariadne died or if she was made immortal for Dionysos's sake.

Never mind, honey, this is the beginning of a beautiful relationship

Yes, I finally drew Ariadne! Ah, you noticed her swollen eyes. Dionysos will probably soon offer her some wine and new makeup.
Yeah, one day she will be happy that she never became Theseus's wife.

I predict that day will come soon. Dionysos is kinder, more beautiful, and a god on top of that.

Yes, even if Dionysos kind of is the god of madness, I would say that he is much better than Theseus.
