I am so sorry to hear that. Death is always a hard thing to deal with, especially when it's unexpected.

Yep, I am still living with my mom. I am doing alright, been a little bit discouraged because I want to go back to college, but it's going to take a little longer to go back than I thought it would. But I won't give up. Just got to keep trudging along.

Everything is fantabulous Abby, I admit im a little slack in the creative department of late, but otherwise life is great.
What was "it"?? Totoro mixed with a bunny, mixed with the Dragon "Toothless"?? Love him.
My Holiday season does not start till I break from work, which will be Xmas eve. Much looking forward to a couple of weeks off work indeed.
I promise to keep inspired and produce some good work over the coming months.

I am not sure what "it" is, but I wanted to draw something cute and slightly like your own creatures. I am glad you are doing well. For years my ma had to work on holidays, but now that she was moved up to "boss lady" as she calls it, she can take them off . Some of the best ideas I find are the ones that come to you after a dry spell of creativity. So nothing wrong with that XD. How did your video go? Did you finish it?

Ahhh the damned video... Hmm as I recall it was a video for my flatmate. Well it went south, actually it went nowhere. My friend was too flippant and all over the place with his requests, and as a result wanted waaaay too much that little old me could handle (especially in the time frame allowed). Funnily enough this happened again 2 months ago, where a music act wanted something done b4 the New Year, and I simply struggled to get something that i wanted as a representation of myself and my brand, and for the band.
Animation is so tough, but i want to produce my own thing over this next coming year.

How about you, what have you been up to work wise??
Did you have that exhibition you told me about months ago??

Oh man, that sounds rough. A LOT of work goes into animation, especially stop-motion and traditional animation. I have to give you kudos for trying to take on that sort of project in a small time frame. Good luck with producing your own , I am sure it will be awesome! Is it going to be full of your usual punny humor? XD

Grr the gallery people never responded back to me, so that was a no go. Even after I did all that work -___-'. I've decided though that I am going to try to make enough items so I can rent my own table at the local flea mall and try to sell stuff there. Started dabbling in crocheting. Any crafty, artsy ideas? XD My ma sold handmade Christmas ornaments and other crafty stuff in the flea mall when I was little and I remember having so much fun there. So many stories I could tell.

I applied for part-time illustration job for a new online magazine, and am doing my first illustration for them now . I am excited because it will be my first time being professionally published as opposed to doing personal commissions (or being in a newspaper or pamphlet for winning a contest lol). I've done a few personal commissions here and there too.

Sorry it took so long for me to respond. My ma got the flu and ended up having to go to the E.R. where they found out she had pleurisy. Around the same time she went to the E.R. I got the same flu. Talk about rotten luck ):. But at least we both are slowly getting better. So we mostly spent the holidays taking care of each other.

So sorry I took so long to reply Ab.
Been holidaying and fluffing around on leave from work, which is funny cos I have not ventured near a computer almost the entire time...such a good feeling.
Sorry to hear you guys got sick - hope y'all back to fighting fit and smiling again. Its nice to think you have each other to turn to when things are a little *meh.

So the Gallery screwed you over huh, hmmm sounds a bit like my Ma's troubles with her artwork. Seems like you just have to be more lucky than talented these days. I have been dabbling a little with the Acrylics, trying to work out if I can dedicate my patience (or lack there of) to a full blown work.. Im thinking I will give it a go anyways soon. Have a few ideas in the noggin.
You must send me a link or something so i can see your published work for the mag.. Im very proud and jealous of you haha.
My biggest news is that i have started the r&d for a comic idea. Its most likely going to have some post apocalyptic issues and definitely some CUTENESS!!! will keep you posted on that one.
Um the music clip....well i kinda did a little smoke-bomb on that one... I felt it was a little "upstairs-downstairs" atmosphere thing going on there... So i decided to make myself unavailable for a few weeks over xmas to get my head cleansed. I will make contact again at some stage, but i felt waaaay too much pressure to meet their deadline.
Anywho that is my splat, now I shall upload something for you to check out....Its still a WIP at mo, be feel free to rip it apart either way.

Omygoodness, I just realized that I wrote a long reply to this and never actually sent it (not the first time I have done similar T__T).

Sometimes it's best to just take a break from things and literally get a "breath of fresh air" .

Ma and I are doing better, though I am having these fainting spells that I get from time to time. I am seriously thinking about going to see a doctor about it. At first I thought it was just blood rushing to my head, but fainting or close to fainting everytime I get up or move too fast doesn't seem good O__o. Ma jokes and says " I always did want a fainting goat" XD.

My deadline for the magazine is the 25 of this month, when I find out when the issue has been published I will be sure to link you to it . I know how it is to work with tough/picky clients. Luckily this magazine has been the opposite, they have been very nice and helpful. Let me know how your comic idea and painting goes. I would love to see them. I am trying to test my patience and spend more time on more work as well. So I understand your pain XD.

For me, how I got my job was through making a portfolio site and looking at various job offers and responding to them with a link to my site. There is a job offers forum on here that sometimes has good offers. Though a lot of times I am not confident enough to respond XD.

EPIC website Ab. Will have to talk to you about how this site came to life...i need one soon.
I managed to finish my portfolio (as always as my biggest critic) I was not very happy with the end result. However i had a professional Illustrator (Mum) look through my work and she has chosen the best bits. She says she is not bias in any way, as she would treat me like any of her students in these matters.
We shall see how it pans out (Nervous)
The comic is pushed to the back of the priority list for now, but it will always rear its ugly head when its needed im sure.
Again seriously LOVE the website.
