Hello!
Sure, I am happy to help. I have to run for some errands now, but I'll type up how I transferred the Lizardworld character when I get back. Then we can see from there.

Interesting idea, the Gryphon. Unfortunately, I do not have either of these two. Here is how I have transferred all my morphs including several RawArt sets:
0. Before working on any specific character, I made .CR2 with all standard morphs loaded (morphs++, SP4, Creature Creator, ...) and I transferred all f those.
1. Load the character/combination you want onto V4/M4
2. Inspect the figure and find which morphs are loaded. The easiest in DS4 using the "Currently used" button of the parameter tab. Identify all the custom morphs, i.e. all the ones that are not part of the standard morph sets like morphs++ or creature creator.
3. Export the character as .CR2
4. Go to the GenX plugin tab and load the .CR2 that you exported
5. select and transfer all the custom morphs (if you have already transferred the standard one as under 0)
6. Now switch on the GenX tab to the "Presets" tab and load/add the original pose/inj/morph file for the character
7. Select the correct figure, all translate and include options and hit translate. This produces a preset file that will load all necessary morphs and setting onto Genesis.
That's it. So far this has always worked for me. That are a couple of alternate ways for difficult characters. For example you can load the morph combination you want onto M4/V4 and then export as a morph target. Load this onto a fresh CR2 and you can now transfer the combined morphs as one full body morph with GenX. Let me know if you need details on anything. Or if you run into any specific problems. In that case screenshots can be helpful to trouble shoot.

Ok I don't think my version has the exporter. I still have the email with the offer for the beta version of DAZ with a Cr2 exporter. Your explanations mahes perfect sense so far to me

DAZ4 Pro is currently available for free. Make sure to "buy" and download it. That way you have all the tools including the CR2 exporter and rigging tools.
Good luck and don't hesitate to ask if you run into problems.

Already have pro. -chuckles- Not finding much difference so far with it. Might have to suggest"nag" Raw about something else. One of the nice things I have liked about his morphs is you can create something unexpected with them. How I created that one Gryphon showing here. Accidently loaded BirdCult Hawk and DogWorld Fox on top of each other when I clicked the wrong figure.

Yes, Raw's morphs are great. The new ones for Genesis are quite amazing. Can't wait to see what he comes up with next.
The main differences with Pro are the addition of all the content development tools (unless you had the CCT before). I do use the transfer tool a lot to convert generation 4 clothing to Genesis, much better than autofit, you can keep all morphs for example. I have also converted a number of animals to weight mapped figures, very handy. And if you have Z-Brush, the GoZ plugin is great. A wonderful tool.

Been trying to use that transfer utility now that I have some time and can't get the morphs to transfer.. is there a video or tutorial available on how to use it,. The ones on DAZ I have seen are useless at least were getting morphs to transfer. Sorry it has been awhile ..

thd777 In reply to Noshoba [2012-04-01 17:44:39 +0000 UTC]
hello! While it is possible to transfer morphs using the transfer utility from the cct, it is a pain. I am using the GenX plugin from dimension3D (formerly Gen4 at Renderosity, now available at DAZ). With that one it is very easy. I have transferred most Gen 4 morphs and many characters over without issues.
The only tutorial I have seen for using the transfer tool are the DAZ videos and if I recall correctly, there was a short written set of instructions in the forums, but I did not save the link.

Yeah I have Gen X as well doesn't like transfering RAWs morphs since they use the Creature morphs as a base

Thanks!
Sure, I am happy to help and share whatever I have picked up along the way. What version of Vue are you using? Are you looking for tips on anything specific?
I have two tutorials that might be useful if you haven`t seen them yet. One is at ShareCG and covers taking a prop from DS to Vue (a lot of the info in there is also is useful if you use Poser). You can find it here: [link]
The other one was in the August issue of 3D Hobby Magazine and is now available on their website as a free sample: [link] ("Power of Layers" the download link is in the flash ad at the top of the page, the middle tab)
Feel free to bug me with questions.

Thanks! Excellent works in your gallery. Congrats for winning the e-on character competition! It was funny, I noticed your winning image right away, but my first reaction was "yeah, alright...". However, the more I looked at it, the more it grew on me. Lot's to discover, outstanding technique, and a well deserved first place! I was very happy that mine made it into the top 12 ("Spaceminer").

Ah, thank you so much for the kind words! I recognized your "Spaceminer" image from the contest. It was the one I was eyeballing the whole time before the results as a sure win over mine. It's a great image and I love it. I was quite surprised to have won - I kept changing things around, and I had to slap myself and just submit it, but the whole time thereafter thinking I had ruined the layout. It's the first contest I've ever won, so it threw me for a loop, especially up against so many other fine images such as yours. Your work is outstanding! I really admire your technique and attention to detail. Bravo!

It's a great image. I noticed it in the top 12, but I did not connect your name at e-on with the one here. Is that inspired by Ayla from "Clan of the Cave Bear" and the follow-up novels?

Ummm, no, I don't think so. I don't remember ever having read such a book. I search through lists of names often for names I can use for roleplay characters or characters in my stories, so I think I probably got it from one of those. The name just popped into my head while making the scene.
I'll have to look up that book.

No worries. The combination of a strong female character and the stone age setting just reminded me of the books. The Ayla in the books was blond as far as I remember. I read them quite a long time ago. The first one is called "The Clan of the Cave Bear" and was written by Jean M. Auel. It describes the life of a Cro-Magnon orphan girl that gets adopted by Neanderthals. I liked it because of the very detailed description of prehistoric times and life (which the author carefully researched, even though the books are certainly not to be taken 100% serious). Several additional books followed the first one and describe Ayla's way home to her kind. There was also a movie at some point, but I didn't see that one.

I just checked. They are available via Amazon (and probably in larger book stores). There are five books now in this series and a new one is supposedly coming out in early 2011 (The Land of Painted Caves). The new one is set in the area of today's France that has all the caves with stone-age paintings (Dordogne). I might have to get that one when it comes out. I traveled there a few times over the past 10 years and have visited the caves near Ruffiniac, Lascaux and the "Grotte de Font de Gaume" near Les Eyzies. That one is really amazing, a Google search comes up with lots of images, but it doesn't do the real thing justice. The artists used the shape of the cave walls to generate true 3D images.

Hmmm, actualy, I have read a whole lot of books in the past. So perhaps I did read it. And then it is possible I associated the name with the character I had in mind for the contest.
