Hey hoping I hear something from you again soon. Hope life has been treating you well. I know they released ECCC tickets the other day I've already planned on a Saturday visit. Hoping this year I will be costume.

I am planning on it again this year. Sorting out if I'm going in costume again this year (I was really hard on myself last year when I did my Red Hood cosplay, I prepped all year for it and yet felt really let down when the event happen.) so I'm debating this year. But I am excited for a couple announcements thus far for guests :Stan Lee, Ivy Doomkitty and John Barrowman (Dark Archer from ARROW) this year in attendance.

The Red Hood Helmet was really hard to see out of (and I ended up not wearing it most of the day because of it) instead opting fo rmy mask, (which did not stay glued on (and now I will no longer use Spirit glue for masks).
I logo chest piece I crafted ended up not working on the day of the event although in all my test fittings it was fine. Β
I had no where to properly store my crowbar prop and ended having my dad hold it most of the day instead and just used my guns in the couple "action" shots I did.
And I kicked myself for not getting a picture with my friend who did the Joker, when we had planned to re-enact a few scenes from the animated movie.Β
I was TOO hard on myself for my first costumed con. THat is why I'm debating on it this year.Β

Don't be too hard on yourself, cosplay is a learned skill and we all have those first costumes that are a pain in the ass to make or wear. You can always take more pictures or upgrade you costume for the next con- it doesn't need to be perfect the first time around and likely won't be
Maybe try something easier or more comfortable next time if you feel like dressing up, or rewear it with all the changes you noticed had to be made the first time around like a holder for the crowbar etc.

Yep, I'm thinking of some new ideas, but I'm very limited in my craft. No support at home for costume making, so my entire last costume was made from materials I had on hand and crafting weapons at my desk at work. Boss was always curious why I was crafting while answering phones.Β
