Stupid mistakes? haha we all do, and i have and always will continue that pattern ... i just hope that i make more of the right ones than not.

Sure, I love to comment on your work--it has a lot of individuality for me, and transports me to a different world in a way--your world... Most of what you create has you written all over it, which is as it should be. To me, living in a big city in continental Europe (but being a lover of nature), rural Australia seen through your eyes is one of those pathways to Faerie--the forests, the golden grass, the horses, the sunsets and sunrises without any sign of modern civilization--it's magic. So, in a way, your work enriches my life...

My absolute favorite work of all time, btw. is You and I--that pic makes me want to write a novel about the little girl and the horse that is her friend, there is so much depth to it.

Sorry for gushing, bit I wanted you to know that for me, your art has value, and it makes this corner of the planet a little more beautiful, that I get to look at it...

It does doesn't it. The Malazan world is very confusing, though the more you read, the more it makes sense--though as one critic says, it is a world that is essentially "unknowable".
Enjoy it though! Gardens of the Moon is beyond cool in my estimation... Especially Kruppe and Andomander Rake.

I've finished GoTM.. the next four are somewhere in the mail, should be here soon. I thought the book was great! Confusing at first.. once I got used to the idea that it was supposed to be, and that it wasn't me just being dull and missing all the important bits, I enjoyed it a whole lot more. I finished reading The Thousandfold Thought.. now *that* was a confusing read. The story isn't even finished! I was under the impression this was supposed to be a trilogy..

I loved TDTCB and TWP, so I was a bit disappointed.

(do you hang out at any Scifi/Fantasy forums?)

I haven't even got TTT and TWP, they are not on sale in Hungary, I might have to order them... but if you say that it's a bit of a disappointment, I might just stop reading that series.
I am really glad you liked Gardens, it is one of my favorites. Deadhouse Gates was not nearly as impressive for me, there were a lots of annoying bits in it (i felt that it was not nearly as carefully written, or logical and convincing as Gardens), but you'll judge for yourself. I wonder how you'll like Midnight Tides though, because that one is especially well written in my opinion.

I don't really hang out on any sci-fi/fantasy forums... Am I missing out?

Well, I said I was a bit let down by TTT; I was especially disappointed by the fact that it didn't wrap up the trilogy! (hint: you don't even start touching on the Second Apocalypse yet!) .. there are other books that tell that part coming after, of course; but labelling the books a trilogy is very misleading..

My books still haven't arrived - gah!

Fantasy forums: I'm currently hanging out on sffworld.com's forums.. I used to go there for reviews and I just happened upon them one day. I would say you're missing out The average age is considerably higher than, say, DeviantArt (it seems they're all in their mid 30's!), and they're a very passionate, knowledgable and literate crowd who love discussing their books. I go there to check out the discussions and for book recommendations, mostly.. the rec. threads there are a *GOLDMINE* if you know what you're looking for.

A few authors also hang out there R. Scott Bakker comes to mind..

I don't check my DA account much lately either--I am so busy working that it's hard to come by and start answering messages.

Deadhouse Gates is in my opinion the weakest book in the entire Malazan series, so if it disappoints, do read on by all means, I gets a lot better--though there are still some parts in it which are absolutely great.
