The reason I ask is that I plan on doing similar journals in the nearby future based around a certain aspect of Japanese culture that our members would like to hear about. C: Could you help me out?

I just need to know (for now xD) what are the top 5 aspects of Japanese culture that you would like to learn more about?
(In example: (tales/stories vs poems) literature, (tradition vs modern) music, (traditional vs modern) art, (t.v.m.) food, patriotic (anthem, flag, etc.), games, etc.)

Oh wow!!! That's longer than me...I believe I have been around for 6 years. I've had three different accounts and finally settled on this one. However due to school, I'm not always as active on dA as I would like to be.

I remember that feeling! It's only after graduating college that I've had any time to really get involved in dA! It's a wonderful experience so far!

Ah, really? I have been wanting to become more involved here (especially within the literature community); however, college really does put a lot of stress on me and limits my free time.

English Literature and minor in Creative Writing! 

I found that it's a challenge, but it kept me involved in dA,  to go through my Favorites Gallery, organize the folders and then to comment or critique all the work I've favorite-ed. I started with something like 86 pages of a Favorites, paired down based on if I like them or not, and then started critiquing. All critiques or commented works are in the folders all non critiqued works are in the Featured area. I'm now down to 7 pages of favorites. 

It keeps you busy but it's something easy you can do, a small way to stay involved in dA while you're in school.

I'm sorry for this terribly late reply. I just finished my college semester.
I intend to major in English and take the creative writing path so I'm very grateful to be receiving some great advice from you~. I have found that it is far too difficult to be on dA while in school and I still have two more semesters of general ed classes. I did take English 101 this semester, though and I got an A in the class so I'm very pleased and having put so much effort into it, I was happy that my professor left me an encouraging compliment on my final discussion post. (I take online classes). It was something along the lines of: "It was a pleasure to read your well written posts all semester." I couldn't help but feel elated after being praised by my very first English professor. ^^ I hope you're doing well, dear~.
