7 runs much smoother though, requires less resources, and has a better file system... i'm going to miss XP, but i think i've hit its limit a few times.

wait till 7 gets its first Service Pack, from there it will be pretty good :3

Rhino is the ebil 3d program that we architorture students use LOL. Its a staple program that runs best on xp as of yet >D

Yeah. I dont think XP can handle CS5 all that well >.> but until school updates, I shant. LOL

seven just strikes me as a mac wannabe. with a LOT of questions on every single thing you do. much less than vista, but nevertheless LOL

ooh, never heard of Rhino. i thought you would be using 3DSM and autoCAD lol.

i cant update till i find a way to back stuff up. and since XP has spat the dummy and wont let me use external HDDs, i cant do shit for now

by the way, since i have this new toy, i hope you dont mind me borrowing some of your line-art to try learn/practice colouring. i'm to drunk and tired to think of my own ideas right now

We do use ACAD and Max, but Rhino is so much easier to use LOL ive done all my renders in Rhino and only ever touched Max for one semester. Maya looks interesting tho lol

aaah ok, i had never heard of Rhino, but i have a feeling it may be the thing i've heard about before.
i've always been interested in Maya, but these days i really want Zbrush, would work better for my needs.

initially i thought it was just the external i bought, so i asked my buddy for his.. it wont work either, yet they all work on the PS3 and my dad's laptop
i think i b0rked my WinXP.


and i will post what i do.. perhaps lol. i will once i get better and know what the hell i'm doing, but might be a while before that happens lol.

Zbrush is great for a lot of modeling stuff, you might wanna check some stuff on youtube and teh interwebs, because i'm no good at explaining things. but it seems to be perfect if you're doing organic shapes and models in 3d. i'm sure it can be used similar to regular 3D programs for more geometric shapes though

it will have to be DVD's by the look of it.. unless i set up that "Drop Box" thing, and link it to dad's laptop (with the external HDDs). i dunno.. its become quite complicated...

Are the HDDs you tried the ones without power? you could try the ones with teh power source. alternatively you could try those high capacity pen drives, liek those 16gb ones and transfer them to a diff com if they still work.

might give the flash-drive option a try though.. otherwise i'll just buy a pack of dvd's i guess.
