I'm actually learning a song from Howl's Moving Castle. It's called Merry-Go-Round of Life. I'm super excited because it's a piece that I've never been fully able to play up until now >.>
I've known the intro for a pretty long time, but I found a completely different version so I kinda started from scratch.

Oh, yes I know what song you're talking about. I thought about trying that one out, but I saw a friend do it and was like, "lol nope." What I do now is practice a piece super slowly, and eventually speed up. It takes a lot of time. I have ISTHMA contest that I like to do, and I practice MONTHS before they even announce the sign-ups! XD I take THAT long to at least half-way perfect a piece!
I actually did Castle on a Cloud from Les Mis for the contest this year, and got third place. I was so close to where I wanted to be, but there is always next year! : D

That's why I only learned the intro when I first tried it aha. And that took me quite a while to get. But I've improved a lot in the couple of years in between, so it comes a lot easier to me now. The waltz part is fairly simple to sync with both hands so it's cool.
And that's awesome. I don't think I'd ever do great in a contest since I don't learn pieces like a normal person lol. I don't bother with the whole metronome shebang I just do whatever feels right cause I'm a loser lmao. I don't even read sheet music, so.
